Congratulations to Cassidy Paul on winning the Golden Bobble Award for Proviso's meet. Cassidy has overall just dropped second after second this season. She has really tapped into her talent this year and proven to be such a great asset to our team. Cassidy brings such a great attitude and work ethic to the team. Nice work Cassidy. We can't wait to see what you do at our championship meets.
Estefani Karasek is the winner of our golden bobble award for the Downers Grove South swim meet. Estefani had an amazing meet dropping nearly 10 seconds. This is truly because of her hard work in the pool every day. As Coach Forsberg says, "when she is missing, her presence is so missed." This is because she is the biggest cheerleader on the pool deck and one of the best teammates out there. Thanks for being such a bright spot on our team Estefani!
Congratulations to Anna Christiansen on winning the golden bobble at our meet versus Vernon Hills. Anna has had an awesome season so far going lifetime bests in her 50 free, 200 IM, and overall just swimming her heart out. Anna is working so hard to perfect her strokes and kills it every morning at our dry-land training. She is a great role model and awesome athlete. Congratulations Anna! You are what ATWB is all about.
Sabrina came to the ATWB swim team as a Sophomore this year and we are so happy to have her! So far Sabrina has moved up from swimming with the JV & Frosh/Soph lanes to the Varsity lanes and actually was recorded going her fastest 50 free time at practice by Coach Forsberg just last week. Sabrina is also a vocal leader at dry-land and on the pool deck. She has embraced the spirit of ATWB and for that reason, she received the Golden Bobble award after her swims at Riverside Brookfield. Way to go Sabrina. Coach Forsberg and Coach Murphy can't wait to see all of your talent unfold over the next two months!
Savannah was voted as the Golden Goggle winner for our Morton victory due to her exceptional swims. Savannah has shown a great deal of growth over the season and has swum incredibly well over the last two meets. Not only has she worked hard and trained at a level she was not previously accustomed to, but she has also achieved new lifetime best swims at both the Titan Relays and in our Morton Dual. Way to go and congratulations Savannah!
This Golden Goggle award is special not just because of the swims that took place during the win over Hinsdale South, but because it celebrates the accomplishments of 4 unique and accomplished young women. The GG winners for our Hinsdale South meet are Meghan Koterba, Alexa Henderson, Emily Christiansen, and Melissa Johnston. These young women all swam exceptionally well last night, including 7 wins between the group, however it is far more important to honor the four years of hard work and dedication that each of the has put towards AT-WB swimming. These young women have all accomplished a great deal and will continue to do so in the future. Congratulations and as a team we cannot wait to see what the future holds for all of you.
Michelle Ramirez earned the Golden Goggles award by swimming her way to two season best times at the DGS dual meet on Thursday. Michelle cut almost 19 seconds off of her 500 free time, and 8 seconds off of her 200 IM. Michelle also was a key member on two relays, including a season best contribution on the 400 Free Relay. Michelle is in her first year as a member of the ATWB squad and has shown a great work ethic, positive attitude, and a willingness to push herself in and out of the pool. Congratulations Michelle and keep up the good work!!!
Natalie Obrzut was awarded the Golden Goggles for her fantastic meet Tuesday against York and Riverside Brookfield. As a freshman swimming on the varsity level, Natalie contributed crucial points in the medley relay, and backstroke, and 400 Free relay. Natalie has shown a dedicated work ethic (as the above picture from after a drylands demonstrates) and has done a fantastic job of working with her teammates to continue improving. Great job Natalie and we cannot wait to see what the rest of the season holds.
Bri Richardson - Winner of the Vernon Hills Golden Goggle Award
Bri was nominated by our captains as the first winner of the Golden Goggle Award due to her great showing at her first ever high school meet. Bri swam all lifetime best swims and contributed on relays as well. Further, she showed a positive attitude in cheering on her teammates throughout the entire evening. She actively demonstrated what it means to be a teammate, competitor, and ATWB swimmer in just her first meet. Congrats Bri!
